About the project

We created a crowdsourcing delivery service akin to Uber in the world of food delivery from stores. The service was designed for those who do not have the time or opportunity to shop for food on their own. The app has a cutting-edge interface with location tracking and drawing up a shopping list. The app works in Germany and provides an easy and efficient way to order food. Customers can select the items they want, and then a delivery agent is assigned to fulfill the order. Customers can track the delivery agent in real-time, allowing them to receive their food quickly and conveniently.

Shocas Crowdsourcing Service

Deliver or Order: How Shocas Works - An App Developed by Appomart for senapsa GmbH

The development of crowdsourcing platforms, where people help others complete tasks, and geolocation services requires deep expertise and knowledge. We have that experience, and thanks to it, we created Shocas – an innovative grocery delivery service in Germany. Learn about our approach to development, the mechanics of the app, and the key features that make it a market leader.

Collaboration with Long-Term Partner senapsa GmbH

Our collaboration with senapsa GmbH began back in 2019 when we received a request to develop an innovative grocery delivery service in Germany. This project, named Shocas, became a vivid example of teamwork and long-term partnership between the two companies. As part of our collaboration, we created and continually improved a unique app that has become the true "Uber" of grocery delivery.

Shopping List Interface

Recently, we successfully completed a significant update of Shocas, adding new functionalities and enhancing the user interface. This project is a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation and high-quality service. We are proud to have clients like senapsa GmbH, with whom we have worked for many years, creating modern solutions for their business.

In this article, we will explain how the Shocas app works, what features it provides for users and suppliers. We have similar projects in our portfolio, and we are pleased that Shocas is among them.

Delivery Process and Tracking

How the Shocas App Works

The Shocas app is designed to help people who lack the time or ability to shop for themselves. A unique feature of Shocas is the ability to act as both a customer and a supplier providing delivery services.

The main idea of Shocas is based on a simple yet effective crowdsourcing model that allows users to delegate shopping tasks to others. Drawing on our experience in developing similar applications, we applied proven approaches and innovative solutions to create a user-friendly and functional service.

Supplier Selection Interface

App Mechanics:

  • Shopping List Creation: The user creates a list of necessary items by selecting from a variety of available stores. Since users prefer flexibility, we have provided the option to manually add new stores if the desired one is not in the suggested list.
  • Supplier Selection: We implemented a supplier selection mechanism, which is a key element of the crowdsourcing model. As part of the project, we conducted extensive integration with major retailers in Germany: Lidl, Netto, and Aldi. Lidl has over 450 branches, Netto operates a network of more than 4,000 stores, while Aldi remains a turnover leader with a figure of around 27 billion euros and 4,200 branches. Users can choose a supplier for order fulfillment, which increases trust and personalization of the service.
  • Purchasing and Delivery: Based on our experience with logistics applications, we developed an optimized purchasing and delivery process. The supplier purchases items from the selected store and delivers them directly to the customer's door. The customer can track the order status in real-time, as well as the exact delivery time considering traffic and road conditions.

Real-Time Order Tracking

Key Features

  • Real-Time Order Tracking: We implemented a complete tracking system that allows users to monitor the delivery process at every stage – from agreeing on the shopping list with the supplier to instantly checking the delivery location and discussing details with the supplier in real-time.
  • Eco-Friendly Trading: Among our clients, many pursue higher goals rather than just financial returns from the project. Similarly, senapsa GmbH, which commissioned the development of Shocas, pays great attention to environmental issues. Deliveries are made without additional packaging, reducing waste volume and supporting ecological sustainability.
  • User-Friendly Interface and Integration: Based on our analysis of the German market, our audience's preferences, and research on leading logistics projects, we created an advanced and intuitive interface. Special attention was given to navigation convenience and quick access to core functions, allowing users to place orders easily and quickly. Additionally, integration with social networks simplifies the registration and login process, enhancing overall user satisfaction.

Modules for Suppliers

  • Additional Earnings Opportunities: The primary goal of senapsa GmbH was to create an app that allows users to earn money by fulfilling grocery delivery orders. We implemented this functionality by providing a simple and convenient registration process for suppliers and order fulfillment. After that, they can start accepting orders and earn extra money by helping others with their shopping.
  • Effective Order Management: Drawing on our experience in developing logistics systems, we integrated order coordination functionality through maps and checklists. This allows suppliers to effectively manage multiple orders, saving time and optimizing processes while increasing task performance efficiency.

Recent Updates

It is important to monitor user feedback and respond promptly to their needs and comments. The client senapsa GmbH identified areas for improvement for the Shocas app and later reached out to us for an update. In response to their request, we made significant updates, including migrating the system to new server solutions, which improved the performance and reliability of the service. This is especially relevant as the number of users and data volume grow.

We updated the user interface, added new features, and optimized existing ones to make the app more functional and user-friendly. The improvement and adaptation of Shocas ensure its relevance and competitiveness, as well as guarantee a better experience for users.

In the field of crowdsourcing and logistics, it is important to be flexible and ready for changes to provide users with modern and convenient solutions. We are proud to offer our clients high-quality developments that meet their growing needs.
